What to test

Use your normal setup.

You do not need to be technical. Report anything that sounds wrong, feels confusing, or behaves differently than expected.

Playback edge cases

Test gapless playback, crossfade, seeking, downloads, ReplayGain, and switching between speakers, headphones, and cars.

Server compatibility

Connect Jellyfin and Navidrome/OpenSubsonic setups with reverse proxies, remote access, transcoding, or larger libraries.

Outputs and EQ

CarPlay, Android Auto, AirPlay, Chromecast, Bluetooth, and EQ profiles on the devices you already use.

EQ and crossfade run on the device for local, Bluetooth, and in-car playback. AirPlay and Chromecast use receiver playback and bypass on-device DSP.

iPhone & iPad · TestFlight

Join on iOS.

  1. Install Apple’s free TestFlight app.
  2. Use the Wave 1 link and accept the invitation.
  3. Open Headroom and connect your media server.

The link closes when the iOS cohort is full. Check back for the next wave if enrollment has closed.

Android · Google Play

Join on Android.

  1. Open the Wave 1 link with the same Google account you use in Google Play.
  2. Accept the test, then install Headroom from Google Play.
  3. Open Headroom and connect your media server.

If the app shows as unavailable, check the active Google Play account and its tester-group access.

Get the Android link when it opens.

Leave your email and confirm it once. We will send the Google Play testing link when Android is approved.

Check your inbox to confirm your address.

Report a bug

Send useful details.

Open Settings > Diagnostics > Email support. Review the redacted diagnostic report, add a short description, and send it.

TestFlight and Google Play feedback also work well for screenshots and interface bugs.
